Project Brief:

This project explores the interactions and possibilities of collaboration between historic preservation efforts and wilderness conservation. Taking shape as two boxes containing handprinted materials similar to those found in National Park ranger stations, they are self contained and easy to transport. These experiments could be shared widely and treated prototypically for areas with similar conditions. Recognizing the private-public boundary as an opportunity for the expansion of National Wilderness Areas, I proposed the intervention of impermanent barn-remiscent structures that blend into Teton Valley vernacular, calling back to barns and silos that traditionally dot the landscape and capitalize on the land value generated from recreational tourism.
